After 8 months in London, we finally made our 1st trip out of London to nearby Dublin for a 3 day 2 night stay. But this was going to be the 1st installment of 3 trips out of London.Woke up at 4am to catch the 1st train to Heathrow to be on time for our 6:50am flight. We still had to do a last 100m sprint to the gate when one sign says boarding gate closing in 2 mins while another sign says from here you are 10 mins to boarding gate.Took a public bus into the city costing only EUR1.90 per pax. Thanks to helpful driver. Took us some time to locate our hotel - Drury Court Hotel located at lower Stephens Street. After a not so great lunch at an italian cafe, we started our touristy roam around the Old town area - Dublin Castle photo taking before proceeding on to the Guinness Brewery Storehouse
We queued for an hour before starting the tour in Storehouse which was basically a self-tour with pictures and illustrations on the basic ingredients, the making, transporting etc of the GREAT drink - Guinness Stout. The highlight was of course the pint at the end of the tour at the Gravity Bar. No no... I did not get so drunk and sign up as a beer waitress. But what an amusing combination
Of course the day had to end at Temple Bar. Saturday was an especially busy night. With no reservation, we were turned away at practically every restaurant. Finally Hard Rock Cafe took us in. We had steak, pig sandwich and a huge brownie sundae.

More Dublin sights - Enjoying a leisurely lunch at Trinity College Grounds, shopping along O'Connell Street, crossing the famous Ha'penny bridge and walking in St Stephens Green Park
With a bit a planning, we had a nice dinner a Mackerel. The food was good. But the service was even better. When we said we were sharing the glass of wine and the soup, they actually served them in 2 glasses and 2 soup bowls. Attentive yet not intruding*Stars*
